A researcher from Coimbatore raised the question about the Jallikattu movement asking "...whether the movement has really succeeded or is it the mother of all battles to come?"

V.Palaniappan, a research scholar from Coimbatore made an extensive analysis of the 2017 Jallikattu Movement' in Tamil Nadu, and shared many ideas and findings about Jallikattu in different aspects.

In his research, he has also underlined how the Print, Visual Media and Social Media platforms played a significant role in Jallikattu Protests that were held across Tamil Nadu back then.

The research also throws light on the gap that is currently prevailing in a democratic polity between the aspirations of the people and political dispensations.

Highlighting this movement, the researcher also argues that the Indian people were no more willing to be passive or gullible.

He stressed that the ‘bull’ in the ‘Jallikattu’ movement had become synonymous with the ‘salt’ in the Gandhian Sathyagraha, both seemingly appearing to be trivial but causing an explosion that is unprecedented in history.

Mr.Palaniappan successfully defended his thesis and received his doctoral degree.
