A French-journalist named Arman Soldin who worked for reputed news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) was hit by rocket fire near Bakhmut, a city in Ukraine which is now considered the epicentre of fighting in eastern Ukraine for several months.

Soldin was among the first set of reporters to cover from Ukraine and he has been there since September 2022.

AFP's Europe director, Christine Buhagiar, remembered Soldin as "enthusiastic, energetic and brave", and said he had been "totally devoted to his craft".

So far 15 journalists have been killed in Ukraine since February 2022.
