Coimbatore-based Kannan Jubilee Coffee Company is in plans to increase its retail outlets from 70 to 100 in the next 2 years across India, and increase it further to 140 retail outlets in the next 4 years.

A press conference was held on Saturday where J.Shanker Krishnan, the Executive Director of the company said that for this expansion, at least Rs. 25 to 30 crores would be needed as investment, and for scaling up to that level, he is also in plans to come out with Franchise-model and JV ideas.

Mr.Shanker also said that he is planning to bring in overseas investment into the company, and export Kannan Jubilee Coffee Company’s products to newer destinations abroad. “Wherever Tamilans live, I want them to have my coffee, and I will make this wish a reality”, he expressed with confidence.

While the current production is 12 tonnes per day at the manufacturing plant in Thudiyalur, he said that they are coming out with another manufacturing plant next June, which will significantly increase the production capacity of the company and that will empower its expansion plans. Kannan Jubilee Coffee is in plans to enter different markets in North India, and also step into US market for exports.

Earlier Mr.Shanker and his father, A.K. Jayakumar, the Managing Director of the company launched 16 new products under their ‘Kannan’s Kaapi’ brand like Coffee Dip, Filter Coffee Decoction, Pickles, Mineral water, and Ready-to-mix pastes.
The Filter Coffee Decoction, according to Mr.Shanker , has no preservatives and comes with 6 months shelf-life and gives the same taste and quality till that when properly refrigerated.

He said that they have introduced these products to make customers visit the outlets to buy products that they would need day to day; else it would be futile to expect customers to come all the way to the shops just for getting one single product.

The company is also in plans to import around 300 coffee vending machines to be placed at different institutions, corporate offices, hospitals etc. As a first, 10 machines are coming in February 2023.
