9 student-teams of Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology (SKCET) that took part in the Hardware and Software Edition of the Smart India Hackathon 2022 have been rewarded with coveted prizes and titles for the innovative solutions they provided to different problem statements.


The Hackathon began on August 25 across India in two divisions - Software and Hardware Edition. 21 teams from SKCET participated in the event. Of the 21 teams, totally 8 teams won the first prize with the collective cash reward of Rs.8,00,000 for the problem statements addressing societal needs.


In the Software Edition, 4 teams comprising of 24 Students mentored by 4 expert faculty members won first prizes to the tune of Rs.4,00,000 and in the hardware edition, 5 teams comprising of 29 Students mentored by 4 expert faculty members won four first prizes to the tune of Rs. 4,00,000 and the Special Category Award.


All the 21 participating teams from SKCET were scrutinized by a team of experts formulated within the Institution, under the mentorship and guidance of the Principal, Dr.J.Janet, before they set out to the grand finale. A press release mentioned that SKCET is one of the prominent Institutions across the Nation to produce 9 smashing wins.

S.Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee of Sri Krishna Institutions, appreciated and congratulated the winning teams. The Principal J.Janet, exclaimed that the intense mentorship and guidance have paid rich dividends in the National Front.

The Principal met the winning teams in person and congratulated them. The Deans, Heads of the Departments and faculty members of SKCET also congratulated the students and faculty mentors on their victory.
