V.Ramakrishnan, Former Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust passed away on September 19th at the age of 76.

 

Born to R.Venkatesalu Naidu - Velumaniammal, in October 2nd, 1945, V.Ramakrishnan developed deep interest towards the Industry and management. 

 

After completing his professional studies from Krupps Group of Companies in Germany between 1966 and 69 in Foundry department, he returned to Coimbatore to contribute for the growth and development of Sri Ramakrishna Steel Industries.

 

Under his guidance, it won the Best Foundry Award thrice (1982,87 &89). It also received the National Award for Export for an Outstanding Performance in 1991-92. The then President of India Shankar Dayal Sharma handed over the Certificate of Merit.

 

He was well associated with professional bodies including the Institute of Indian Foundrymen and the Confederation of India Industry (CII), and had been the Southern Region's Chairman of both of these association, also.

 

He co-founded Dr.RV College of Arts and Science in Karamadai, and also served as the Correspondent of SRSI Matriculation Higher Secondary School in the same region.

 

He was a Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, which runs all the educational institutions under the banner 'Sri Ramakrishna', and supported it with his vision and global exposure. 

 

He had a never-ending passion towards the growth of Coimbatore, and is fondly remembered as one of its stalwarts who worked tirelessly for the greater good.
