Coimbatore is set to witness Alertathon, an annual endurance running event, conducted by Alert, a Not-for-Profit organization, for the first time here on October 16th this year.


It has been held 7 times so far in Tamil Nadu but this is the first time that the event is scheduled to take place in Covai.


Alert is an NGO that is focused on improving India's emergency response ecosystem. It offers First Aid and Emergency Medical Care training to members of the organizations that collaborate with it for the noble cause of saving lives.


It has 15+ years of expertise in training people in this specific domain, and it has trained 1.8 lakh people so far. Alertathon will be a running event and a fundraiser supporting the cause of 'Saving Lives'.


By taking part in this running event, participants not only get the chance to take part in running, walking and cycling events but also get trained in basic first-aid and emergency response from experts.


As this event will also be held in both virtual and physical formats, participants can also engage with a global community and be a part of something that contributes to global well-being.


The registrations close on September 30 but those who register before August 31 can avail early bird offer.


The physical event includes 5km Run/Walk, 10 km Run/Walk, 2.5 km x Chain Survival Team Relay, 25 km Cycling and 50 km cycling.
