Customs officials seize 3 kg+ ganja from passenger at Coimbatore airport

Officers of the Air Intelligence Unit of Customs have seized 3.155 kg. ganja from a woman passenger who arrived at Coimbatore International Airport from Bangkok via Singapore on Friday night.
The flight landed at the airport at 11.30 p.m. yesterday and the customs officials were doing their regular checking. The officials noticed the odd behavior of this passenger and checked her which led to the finding. The woman is a native of Kerala and the drug she smuggled is said to be high-grade ganja worth several lakhs. The officials are investigating her plans and who else are involved in this matter.
A similar incident happened at the airport last month. 5.25 kg. of hydroponic weed, worth close to Rs. 5 crore was smuggled by a passenger who arrived here on 21.5.2025 from Bangkok via Singapore. The man was identified as Muhammad Fazil, a native of Kerala's Kozhikode.
