Did you know that the CEO-designate of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) K.Krithivasan did his college in Coimbatore?

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Coimbatore Institute of Technology(CIT), the same institute where N.Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons also studied.

Following the unexpected resignation of TCS' CEO Rajesh Gopinathan on Thursday, K.Krithivasan, who heads TCS' Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) division is set to become the next CEO of TCS, which is India's largest IT services company.

The board appointed Krithivasan as CEO-designate with effect from March 16. He will take over as CEO and managing director in the next financial year, subject to shareholder approval. The effective date of his succession will be intimated in due course, TCS said.
