In connection with Coimbatore Vizha 2023 and in view of Pongal Celebration, Thiru Sengoda Gounder Educational Trust and Sri Shakthi Institute Of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore hosted the fifth Annual Agricultural Festival Velan Thiruvizha-23 on 7th and 8th of January 2023.

The main objective of this festival is to encourage natural agriculture and to develop awareness of natural fisheries and latest technologies.

New tools and instrument in the field of science and technology for the improvement of agriculture and its related fields were exhibited in the agricultural exhibition that takes place in the college campus. 

Cattle show was held at the Thiruvizha. Cows, and bulls were divided into four categories according to age and the competitions were conducted separately for each category. In addition, separate competition for different types of bulls, Mayilakaalai, Sevalaikaalai, and Karikaalai took place. 

The Rekla Competition was held on the second day of the Agricultural fest. Close to 300 rekla trucks which were registered for the competition under various categories participated.

Chairman of the institution, S.Thangavelu, Secretary Dheepan Thangavelu, Joint Secretary Sheelan Thangavelu took part in the celebrations.
