Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital inaugurates State-of-the-Art Simulator Room

Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital, Nava India, Coimbatore, Unit of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, proudly inaugurated its cutting-edge Simulator Room today equipped with India’s first Dente SIMtoCARE, marking a significant leap in dental education and training.
The newly established facility is equipped with advanced Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Haptic Dental Preclinical Simulators, offering students an immersive and interactive learning experience.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by R. Sundar, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust, who officially opened the facility. Joint Managing Trustee S. Narendran also graced the occasion with his presence. The other esteemed dignitaries from the trust, including C. V. Ramkumar, Chief Executive Officer; D. Mahesh Kumar, Chief Administrative Officer; and Dr. L. Deepanandan, Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital participated in this event.
Representing Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Dr. S. Rajagopal, Medical Director, and Dr. S. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent, were also present, reflecting the collaborative spirit between the medical and dental wings of the institution.
The SimtoCare Phantom Integrated Model is a cutting-edge dental simulator that uniquely combines Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Haptic Technology on a single platform. It offers high-fidelity simulation and ultra-realistic scenarios, providing a hands-on, practical learning environment—especially valuable for Implantology training.
Key features include Comprehensive Training Modules that covers all major dental procedures including tooth anatomy, root canal treatment, oral surgery, anaesthesia, orthodontics, prosthodontics, implantology, periodontics, endodontics, odontology, and prosthesis.
Customized Case Creation which allows creation of full dental cases such as designing teeth, adding caries, and setting evaluation criteria for practice is provided.
Besides this, it has advanced Implantology Module to support CT DICOM scans, STL file imports, and implant planning for realistic training; an Extensive Exercise Library that comes with 150 preloaded cases ranging from basic to complex procedures, with the ability to add more exercises regularly.
Integrated Learning Tools including compatibility with 3D printers, DICOM and STL scanners, and includes a student logbook to track progress. This all-in-one simulator helps students quickly develop clinical skills through a highly interactive, hands-on training experience—preparing them for real-world dental practice.
