Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science (SRCAS) took up Union Government's Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign on Saturday.This campaign focuses on promoting cleanliness and community participation in cleanliness initiatives. This campaign was first launched in 2017 under Swachh Bharat Mission, and it is annually observed from September 17 to October 2.

The campaign-related activities by the college were executed at Thomas Park, Race Course on Saturday morning. 600 students of the college's NSS wing created awareness on cleanliness through Mime, Human Chain formation, Dance. They also pledged to keep their places and their surroundings cleans and assured that they will not litter.

Stalin IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police -Law and Order, Coimbatore North took part as the Chief Guest of this program by SRCAS. 

R. Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust presided. C. Samuel Chelliah Regional Director, Regional Directorate of NSS Chennai, Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar; Annadurai, NSS Coordinator, Bharathiar University and Shivakumar, Principal and Prahadeeshwaran, NSS Program Officer, SRCAS also attended. 

Speaking at the event, R.Sundar said Cleanliness is not a word but a mantra, and we all should try to keep our places and surrounding tidy. Maintaining personal & public places clean is a clear sign of a society's development, he opined.

Stalin IPS appreciated the initiatives undertaken by SRCAS. "When youngsters take up cleanliness activities, it will create a change in the mind and heart of public who are watching it," he opined and congratulated the students for their active participation.
