Meet Ms.Inba. She is from Tenkasi's Senkottai and she is an IPS officer now. She cleared the UPSC CSE exam and earned the All India Rank of 851. 

She pursued B.E. Computer Science from CIT Coimbatore. Hailing from a poor family, she strived hard to achieve her mother's dream of becoming an IPS officer. You may ask "What is so big in this?".

Well Inba's mother rolls beedi all day for a livelihood and her father drives bus. Her mother endured severe pain in her hands due to her work.The family lacked many basic facilities and faced many hardships. But her mother never allowed Inba to worry about anything but concentrate on UPSC and become a Police officer. She made her preparations in library.Now she has achieved that inspite of failing in 2 early attempts.

She was one of the 19 successful candidates from Tamil Nadu who was honoured today by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi.

This felicitation ceremony was organised by Shambavi Samkalp IAS Academy along with Young Indians (Yi), the youth wing of influential industry body CII. The event was held at PSG College of Technology in association with Swami Vivekananda Seva Kendram, and it had the participation of Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi as the Chief Guest.Santhosh Taneja, Founder of Samkalp Academy was the Guest of Honor.

Vishnu Prabhakar, Chairman of Yi- Coimbatore told that out of the 19 UPSC achievers, 5 were from PSG Institutions, Coimbatore. 

"Samkalp was started with the yeoman vision of creating very upstanding UPSC officers," one of the guests, Annush Ramasamy, MD, Sri Kumaraguru Mills who brought Samkalp Academy to Coimbatore, said.

" In our own small way, what we are planning for Coimbatore as a start is being Sankalp from Delhi to Coimbatore in the form of Shambavi Sankalp. Whywe did it is we wanted meritocracy among the aspiring candidates. The other main reason is we felt that we should support these candidates with the space and people to guide them. We wanted the bring the same experience of Sankalp to Coimbatore and then extend it to rest of South India, " he added.

Clearing UPSC is 10 times tougher than IIT exams. Hence they wanted to conduct an annual ceremony to congratulate the toppers. 

Governor Ravi congratulated the candidates who have cleared UPSC. He said that Civil Servants have a great responsibility to see that policies are implemented equitably and ensure that grievance of the public are addressed.

He wanted them to learn to digest their success in life and never let it get into their heads as it will affect them to be humble. He urged them to be humble and nice to all, even to the entry-level employees.

Being humble will make everyone look upon you with affection and love and that will give you strength, he said.

He added that this journey will have ups and down and as Civil Servants, they must understand that their responsibility is greater and they have to keep going on with confidence.He recommended them to grow intellectually and read, learn and re-learn, and also take care of their physical health.
