Coimbatore’s Pegasus Sports launches new Equestrian Team to compete in Polo Premier League & Equestrian Champions League

Pegasus Sports, a Coimbatore-based Equestrian Sports promotion company launched its Polo Team – PEGASUS KERALA, that will compete with other Polo and Show Jumping teams from India at the inaugural edition of Polo Premier League (PPL) and Equestrian Champions League.
Saanvika Sundar, a young Equestrian Athlete welcomed the gathering. The event was energetically hosted by Keerthi Shanthanu. The launch of the team was made by R.Sundar, Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Priyanka Sundar, Managing Director, P&S Group during a ceremony held at SNR Auditorium, Nava India on Wednesday, along with celebrity guest Actor Shanthanu, Sakthi Balaji, President, Indigenous Horse Society – Tamil Nadu, Dr.Mahendran, Founder and Chairman, Expovan and Olympic Equestrian Imtiaz Anees. The guests unveiled the Logo, Jersey and Theme Song of Pegasus Sports - Pegasus Kerala.
Polo Premier League and Equestrian Champions League will be the world’s first league format polo event organized by Equine Sports India Federation under the aegis of Indigenous Horse Society - TN , and is scheduled to be held in Coimbatore from June 15 to July 15, 2025.
Pegasus Sports’ PEGASUS KERALA will compete with other major polo and show-jumping teams representing Tamil Nadu, Mumbai, Delhi, Goa, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Telangana at PPL 2025. The show jumping events will take place in June and polo events will take place in July during the league. PEGASUS KERALA’s teams will compete in both the events.
Since the Tamil Nadu Team was already sold out, Pegasus Sports bought Kerala Team in the Polo Premier League and Equestrian Champions League.
Speaking at the post-launch press conference, R.Sundar, the Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Priyanka Sundar, MD, P&S Group who are also the owners of Pegasus Sports said that the upcoming Polo Premier League and Equestrian Champions League are going to be events of global standards.
R.Sundar shared that Pegasus Kerala has skilled riders and wonderful horses and they are very positive about competing in the upcoming leagues. "One of our objectives is to inspire youngsters, especially those from rural sides," he said. "Women are excelling in equestrian sports, and Pegasus Sports will inspire women of all ages," Priyanka Sundar added.
Actor Shanthanu, while speaking, said that he is glad to be here in Coimbatore to launch a Polo Team that is owned by a Coimbatorean.
"Coimbatore is my city, it is my father's (Actor Bhagyaraj) home-town. I am a frequent visitor to Coimbatore for movie shoots and hanging-out with my friends and family here. I am elated to know that a fellow Coimbatorean has bought a Polo Team. Coimbatore is a city that supports new endeavors, and I am sure that this initiative by Sundar and Priyanka Sundar will also receive tremendous support from the city," he said.
Keerthi Shanthanu joined her husband to assert the same. " I do a lot of show hosting in Coimbatore and while this is the first time that I am hosting a Sport Event, I enjoyed the vibe of the city, the audience today, and I have witnessed that Coimbatore always backs persons with new ideas and visions," she said
