During the 2025-26 Tamil Nadu Budget announcements, the Government said that semiconductor manufacturing parks would be established in 100 acres in Sulur, Coimbatore, and at another 100 acres at Palladam, Tiruppur.

Sources shared on Monday that the Revenue Department Officials have identified a 100-acre site at Kethanur village in Palladam Taluka of Tiruppur Dist. to set up a Semiconductor Park. The site is reportedly under TNEB. Works are underway to find a similar site for another park in Sulur, Coimbatore, to boost the state's semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.

It is noteworthy to mention that TN's finance minister Thangam Thenarasu stated during the budget announcement that these industrial parks will be developed in collaboration with companies from the United States, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan, and will propel the economic growth of the Coimbatore region to the next level.
