'Chennai Bulls' on cloud nine after big win at Equestrian Champions League 2025

Chennai Bulls - an equestrian team representing Tamil Nadu was declared the winner of The Equestrian Champions League - a national level show jumping tournament organized by Equine Sports India Federation and Indigenous Horse Society - Tamil Nadu in Coimbatore.
'Equestrian Champions League' is promoted as India's biggest show jumping event and the world's first franchise-format Equestrian League.
This event had an enthusiastic participation from members of 6 teams representing their States such as Chennai Bulls (Tamil Nadu), Pegasus Sports (Kerala), Bengaluru Knights (Karnataka), Golconda Chargers (Telangana), Quantum Reins (Goa) and Elite Equestrians (West Bengal).
The teams competed in two categories at the tournament - Round 1 - 110 cms show jumping and Round 2 - 120 cms show jumping.
On Sunday, 18 riders from the 6 teams competed in the Round 1 (110 cms) and attempted to complete the course within the maximum allotted time of 108 seconds without dropping any poles arranged horizontally in 11 spots (called Stands) throughout the course.
Stands 4 and 10 were combination stands, meaning the horse and the rider have to jump 2 stands placed almost one after the other.
Harshvardhan (Bangalore Knights), Dhruvrajsinh Vaghela (Quantum Reins - Goa), Lingesh (Pegasus Sports - Kerala), Amara Singh - (Quantum Reins- Goa) were some of the few equestrians who cleared the course without dropping a single pole.
Following this, the jump off session of Round 1 was held. This stage had the top 12 out of the 18 equestrians. In this stage, they have to traverse through the stands 1, 6,7, 4A, 4B and 11.
In the Round 2 (120 cms), 18 players from the 6 teams competed to achieve a clear round as quick as possible within the allotted maximum time of 100 seconds.
Yash Nancy from Pegasus Sports, Bharat Manohar from Chennai Bulls, Avik Bhatia from Pegasus Sports, Nitin from Golconda Chargers, Surya Adithya from Chennai Bulls, Akil from Golconda Chargers and Harshit from Chennai Bulls cleared the stage with no faults.
The top 12 equestrians in this stage moved on to the Jump off session.
At the end of the competition, Chennai Bulls team with total points of 109, claimed the first position and won Rs.15 lakhs. No other team scored 100 points except Chennai Bulls.
Pegasus Sports Kerala with 97 points won the second prize and a cash reward of Rs.10 lakhs.The third place went to Golconda Chargers (Telangana) with a cash reward of Rs.5 lakhs. They had 73 points.
Equine Sports India Federation and Indigenous Horse Society-Tamil Nadu's bold attempt to organize a world-class show jumping event in Coimbatore at a grand scale has not just made this equestrian sport familiar but a favorite among people of Coimbatore.
