The excitement at the arena beside The Equestrian Crest in Molapalayam, Coimbatore reached an electrifying level on Saturday as the Competition Day 1 of the Equestrian Champions League organized by Equine Sports India Federation and Indigenous Horse Society, Tamil Nadu showcased the brilliance of show jumping to an overwhelming 6000 strong audience. 

Equestrians from all the 6 teams competing in the league, namely Chennai Bulls, Pegasus Sports (Kerala), Bengaluru Knights (Karnataka), Golconda Chargers (Telangana), Quantum Reigns (Goa) and Elite Equestrians (West Bengal) participated in the Round 1 - 110 cms show jumping.

All the competing equestrians and their horses had to jump a total of 11 stands without dropping the poles.

Stands 1 to 7 is all about jumping the stands at the athlete and his/her horse's convenience. But from stands 8-11, the game hypes up. They have to jump as quick as possible and have to beat the best time-record that has been set by others.

Neil from Pegasus Sports Kerala opened the event for competition-day 1 with his horse Hach, and he completed the course in 20.53 seconds. 

Dhruvrajsinh Vaghela of Quantum Reins who entered the arena as the third contestant with his horse Claudio exhibited cool and composed attitude from the start, and together the duo acted as one and set an impressive record of 15.03 seconds without dropping a pole from the stand.

It was flawless and the audience enjoyed the panache of the rider and his horse. It was an electrifying performance and the record set by Dhruvraj remained at the top for long, and unbroken at the end of Round 1. 

Ved Sarkar from Elite Equestrian (W.Bengal) came second with 15.53 seconds while Surya, Chennai Bulls (TN) came third with 16.22 seconds.

Others including Aradhana from Chennai Bulls; Amara Singh from Quantum Reins (Goa), and Yuvan - Golconda Chargers (Telangana) were among the top point scorers of Round 1.
