While most motorists who use the 10 km- GD Naidu Flyover in the city drive their vehicles complying with the traffic rules, a few does not. Driving the vehicles beyond the speed limits is soon going to cost a lot for motorists.

The Coimbatore City Police Department has requested the State Highways Department to install Artificial Intelligence-powered cameras near all the entry and exit points of the GD Naidu Flyover. According to sources, in addition to monitoring the vehicles' speed, these A.I- powered cameras will have the ability to also detect whether the 2-wheeler driver is wearing helmet and the car drivers are wearing the seatbelts.

Along with this, the City police are also in the process of setting up a screen in the flyover. The purpose of this screen is to display the vehicle numbers of this who have made traffic violations while driving on the flyover. A report quoting City Police Commissioner Saravana Sundar IPS states that the screen is going to be setup in the flyover and works are going on for that.
