Southern Railway announced recently that due to the ongoing track renewal works at Podanur Railway Yard,  changes have been made in 2 train services connecting Coimbatore on July 14th, 16th, 18th and 20th.

According to an official statement, Train No.16722 Madurai - Coimbatore Express, scheduled to leave Madurai Jn at 07.05 a.m., will be Short Terminated at Pollachi Jn on the above mentioned 4 days. The train will run from Madurai Jn to Pollachi Jn only; it will not run from Pollachi Jn to Coimbatore Jn on those days.

On the other hand, Train No. 16608 Coimbatore - Kannur Express, scheduled to leave from Coimbatore Jn at 1.50 p.m., will instead leave from Palakkad Jn at 1.10 p.m. hrs during these days. The train will not run from Coimbatore Jn to Palakkad Jn; it will leave from Palakkad Jn and run up to Kannur.
