Equestrian Champion League 2025 begins in Coimbatore

Nilgiris MP A.Raja inaugurated India's biggest showjumping league - the Equestrian Champions League held at a new arena beside The Equestrian Crest in Molapalayam, Coimbatore on Friday.
Organized by Equine Sports India Federation, in association with Indigenous Horse Society, Tamil Nadu, Equestrian Champions League 2025 is India's first state-based franchise model Equestrian League event, and the league's intense action will take place from July 5th to July 6th.
A.S.Sakti Balaji, President, Indigenous Horse Society, Tamil Nadu welcomed the gathering and said that conducting The Equestrian Champions League is not just a proud moment for Coimbatore but a milestone for whole India in the global equestrian arena.
During the event, the Chief Guest A.Raja also unveiled the arena that was prepared exclusively for this extravaganza.
In this maiden edition of the league, totally 6 teams such as - Chennai Bulls representing Tamil Nadu, Pegasus Sports (Kerala), Bengaluru Knights (Karnataka), Golconda Chargers (Telangana), Quantum Reigns (Goa) and Elite Equestrians (West Bengal) are participating.
Each team has acquired well-accomplished equestrians in India, who will showcase the best showjumping performances with their horses from Saturday.
During the inauguration, Shub Choudary - an Equestrian National Golf Medalist and young and popular equestrian Avik Bhatia demonstrated the grace of show jumping to the gathering. The fence was set upto 140 cms, and the Equestrians amazed the gathering. Through this brief performance, they gave a taste of what is awaiting for the audience in the next two days.
Speaking to the press and media at the sidelines of the event, A.Raja said that the organizers, especially Mr.Balaji and his wife Ms.Bharathi should be appreciated for conducting the event at a grand scale.
He called the show a remarkable feat, and expressed hope that the subsequent editions of the Equestrian Champions League in the coming years will gain lot of support from the people of Western Tamil Nadu and also become a prestigious event in the State.
As this area Molapalayam falls under Nilgiris Constituency, he said he will explore if any support could be given to such an event that has great potential in the world of sports entertainment.
At the event, S.P. Anabrasan, Chairman of Nallaram Foundation inaugurated the Equine Breeding India's Mobile Laboratory. Dr.R.Mahendran, Founder, Expovan was also present at the event.
