Through this program, students are able to work on technological challenges in motorsports and the challenges of the future. The ultimate objective behind programs like this is to make India a global destination for motorsport innovation, he said. He highlighted the innovations in Automotive industry made by the legendary G.D.Naidu in Coimbatore almost 80 years ago at a time when the technology was limited. K.T. Rama Rao encouraged the students to come up with the automotive technologies needed in the present including batteries and software needed in cars. "Why not imagine that the next Tesla should come from Coimbatore or Thoothukudi or the next BYD from Hyderabad or Vijayawada?" he asked. K.T.Rama Rao said the New India will be built by tier 2 cities as they have the fire in their belly. He wished the students to unleash their innovative spirit and make India proud.
