The Department of Biomedical Engineering of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology,Coimbatore (KPRIET) organized a  conclave on Medical Systems recently.

Chairman of GEM Hospital, Dr.C.Palanivelu took part in the event as the Chief Guest. The conclave was presided over by the Chairman of KPR Group, K.P.Ramasamy. D. Saravanan, Principal, KPRIET also attended.

Mr.Ramasamy while addressing the gathering, shared about the enormous hardships that Dr.C.Palanivelu underwent in his only pursuit to become a scholar and a doctor. He narrated a few of those challenges that the doctor had mentioned in his auto-biography titled ‘GUTS’  to the students and motivated them.

The Chief Guest, Dr.C.Palanivelu spoke about the advancements in laparoscopy technology and various technical aspects besides the production of cost-effective laparoscopic equipment, and making advanced surgical procedures accessible even to rural populations.
