Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Coimbatore successfully performed its first heart transplantation on Monday (25.8.25).

The harvested heart was transported from KG Hospital to Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital, Neelambur — a distance of 20 kilometers — via a Green Corridor with the support of the Police Department, enabling safe transfer within just 12 minutes.

A team of experts led by Dr. K. Madeswaran, Chairman and Managing Director, Dr. G. Pradeep, Consultant – Heart and Lung Transplantation and Mechanical Circulation, and Dr. S. Kirubanand, Consultant – Cardiac Anaesthesiologist, carried out the complex procedure within a short time frame.

“This is an important milestone in Royal Care’s journey. The hospital is constantly upgrading its technology in line with global standards, and many of these technologies have been introduced for the first time in India and this region. Our Multi-Organ Transplantation facility has now achieved its first successful heart transplantation," said Dr. K. Madeswaran.

He also congratulated the entire medical, paramedical, and administrative team for this remarkable achievement.
