TECHgium 2024, 7th Edition, India’s largest innovation platform for engineering students was held at LTTS' newest Bengaluru campus.

It witnessed participation from leading IITs, NITs and state-level engineering colleges across the country. The two-day hackathon focused on the themes of Mobility, Sustainability and Hi-Tech encompassing areas such as UAVs, medical diagnostics, robotics, compute vision, analytics, electric vehicles, and wireless transmission, among others.

Participants were motivated to solve real-world problems with creative solutions, offering them the chance to work with LTTS and earn recognition as TECHgium innovators. More than 36,765 students registered from 503 engineering institutes across the country in the annual technology competition.

Following a series of evaluations and ideation sessions leading to the development of proofs-of-concept (PoCs), top 32 engineering teams were shortlisted. The finalists showcased their functional prototypes to an esteemed jury of industry veterans, academicians, and analysts.

After a thorough evaluation, the top three winners were announced, highlighting the apex of innovation achieved through TECHgium. Tessy Thomas, popularly known as the Missile Woman of India for her pivotal role in India's AGNI missile project, was the Chief Guest. 

Six teams of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) advanced to the grand finale in Techgium 2024 at LTTS Bengaluru campus on May 8-9, 2024. One of the SREC Teams bagged the 1st Runner up with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs, the team of students S. Joshika, U. Jeeva Meena, T. Jananisri, and U. S. Arunsrinivas, under the mentorship of M. Jagadeeswari and Mrs. Saranya, from the department of the Electronics and Communication Engineering for developing Digital Well Twinscape: Oil Well Monitor prototype.

This innovative solution promises to revolutionize oil well monitoring, showcasing the college's commitment to addressing real-world challenges through technology. Also Esteemed Employees choice award was bagged by SREC team led by Harish M, Dheeraj M, Dinesh Kumar K, and Adithyan M, under the mentorship of Dr.M.Chindamani hailing from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department for their project, "Banana Fiber Auto: Sustainable Biodegradable Automotive Components," caught the attention of industry experts and professionals alike, highlighting the importance of sustainable solutions in the automotive sector. As a recognition of their outstanding demonstration, the team was awarded gift vouchers worth Rs 15,000 by LTTS.

Furthermore, SREC has been showcasing outstanding creativity and innovation in TECHgium by winning the Gold Award Winner in first and second editions of the competition and consistently winning different honours in all of the LTTS-organized TECHgium editions.
