TNAU's COXBIT hosts special lecture on career, commitment and success

The Centre of Excellence in Biotechnology (COXBIT) at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore and Department of Plant Biotechnology, Centre for Plant Molecular Biology & Biotechnology (CPMB&B), jointly organized a guest lecture on "Expectations of industries from candidates and decoding how to fulfill the same", on Saturday.
The UG students of B.Tech Biotechnology & Bioinformatics (150 Nos.) , TNAU attended this event. Sowbarnika Loganathan, Assistant Team Lead in Administration and Facilities, Molecular Connections Pvt. Ltd, Coimbatore delivered an insightful lecture to the students.
In her address, she emphasized the importance of both technical skills and soft skills for collaboration in professional environments. Technical expertise, teamwork and a positive mindset are vital qualities and these can have a significant impact on career, she added.
She highlighted the need to focus on self-preparation, mastering communication skills, deepening their subject knowledge and practicing consistently. When asked about aligning with industry needs, she advised, "Research about companies, understand market trends, and ensure your skills meet industry expectations." She also spoke about adapting to company cultures, committing to lifelong learning and focusing on targeted job applications as crucial for long-term career success.
Earlier, N. Senthil, Director, COXBIT & Centre for Plant Molecular-biology and Biotechnology, TNAU, Coimbatore welcomed the gathering. At the end of the event, L. Arul, Professor and Head, Department of Plant Molecular Biology & Bioinformatics, TNAU rendered the foraml note of gratitude. K. Hemaprabha, Associate Professor and Dr. V. Rajanbabu, Assistant Professor, DPB coordinated this event.
