The Startups Academy, an NGO which guides and provides mentor support to startups in Coimbatore, conducted an award ceremony to honor the winners on 9th May 2022 at The Residency Towers, Coimbatore The welcome address was rendered by president G.Karthikeyan.

The Finance Minister of India, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman presented the awards to the winners. The ceremony was attended by Vanathi Srinivasan MLA for Coimbatore South; and BJP leaders.

There were 4 categories in which the awards were presented: Vikra Ocean Tech, Clutch Health, and I Am Neo was awarded as Rising Stars. Under the Star Category, Dr. Lakshmipriya from My Birth Place, Arasi Arul from 60 Plus India, and Swathi from Health Basix were awarded. The superstar award was presented to Juicy Chemistry. Agri Pro Industry, Glocl, and Nutrigenetics Life Science were awarded as Emerging Stars.



Nirmala Sitharaman congratulated the winners and addressed the gathering. She further said that the government is looking forward to supporting startups with new policies and implementing new ideas. Steps are being taken to develop the Startup India portal, which allows for self-certification and compliance with nine environmental and labor laws. further mentioned that additional support will be provided in terms of incubating centers and tinkering labs. This scheme aims to take forward student innovations by promoting student startups and accelerating new ideas.
