Coimbatore International Airport handles a large number of domestic passengers each year, offering connectivity to Chennai, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Hyderabad, Goa, and a few other cities. The airport also provides international flights to Singapore, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi.
In 2024, more than 8 lakh passengers traveled on the Coimbatore–Chennai and Chennai–Coimbatore flight routes, making it the busiest domestic sector from Coimbatore International Airport. This was followed by over 7 lakh passengers on the Coimbatore–Mumbai route and more than 4 lakh passengers on the Coimbatore–Delhi route.
Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi remain the top three domestic destinations connected by flights from Coimbatore. With growing passenger traffic, air travelers and industry representative have urged the concerned authorities to introduce more flights to domestic destinations, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Pune, to enhance connectivity and meet increasing demand.
Parking and payment issues need attention
Passengers have raised concerns over the improper parking of four-wheelers near the airport entrance, which often remain stationary for extended periods, obstructing smooth movement toward the terminal. Many travelers have also complained about parking staff refusing to accept digital payments, insisting on cash transactions instead.
