After the successful completion of Round 1 and 2 of FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship 2024 in Chennai and Nashik, respectively, the 3rd Round of the Championship - 'The Rally of Coimbatore' will be held here from July 26th onwards. 

67 participants are going to take part in the Rally of Coimbatore 2024. The main action will comprise of 8 Super Special Stages (SSS) on Saturday and continue till Sunday. The total distance of the rally is 269.38 kms. On July 27th, Stage 1-6 will be held at SM Agro near L&T bypass from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the next day, the remaining stages will be held at Kethanur near Kethanur 4 Corner Junction from 8:45a.m. to 1:30p.m.

The main race categories for the Championship are- INRC, INRC2, INRC3, Junior INRC, INRC Women, Gypsy Class, Classic Challenge (for Classic cars) and SUV Challenge (for SUV cars).

"INRC, INRC 2 and INRC 3 are the main categories. The INRC 4 category has been rebranded as the Classic Cars categories. There is no major change in the categories. " said Premnath, Director, Blueband Sports during the press conference held before the ceremonial flag-off.

When INRC legend, Gaurav Gill who also took part in the press conference, was asked, whether the mercurial weather in Coimbatore right now will be a challenge for him, he said " We had some rains a few years ago (here) also. The surface that we are going to drive on Saturday; if there is too much rain, then it is going to be a massive challenge for everyone." 

Aroor Arjun Rao, the INRC Overall Champions 2023 said the first stage is similar to last year while the second stage is an all-new, very fast, wild and a beautiful one. He said he is eager to put the pedal to the metal on both of them.

During the ceremonial flag-off, the Chief Guest, V.Balakrishnan IPS, Honorable Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, flagged off the event in the presence of the Guest of Honor, R.Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust and the organizing team and representatives of Coimbatore Auto Sports Club, the competitors – drivers, teams and BlueBand Sports’ management.

Entries are open to the public. Special Spectator Points are located at various rally locations where the public can safely capture the intense action.
