Celebrated Indian classical/contemporary dancer and choreographer Anita Ratnam and her team from Arangham Dance Theatre will perform 'Naachiyar Next' - a story of the mystic poet Andal, for the first time in Coimbatore on August 31, at Kumaraguru Campus.

Presented by classical dance academy Abhyasa and Kumaraguru Institutions, this production will feature a talented ensemble creating a visually stunning and emotionally charged experience bringing together dance, theatrical staging, ritual chanting, storytelling and contemporary movement improvisations.

A press conference about this upcoming event was held on Monday at Kumaraguru City Centre, where Lavanya Sankar, Founder of Abhyasa and Prof.Deepesh, Principal, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science addressed the press and media.

Ms. Sankar said that it will be a 70-minute, continuous performance in which Dr.Ratnam and 16 dancers, live musicians will come together to re-tell the story of the revered Poet-Saint Andal with feministic insights.
The dance movements will have a modern touch, the stage, props, lighting and the stellar performance from Arangham team will appeal the classes and the masses, Ms.Sankar said. She also expressed that Abhyasa is happy to collaborate with Kumaraguru Institutions, as both organizations celebrate culture and promote it. 

This is a ticketed-event. Tickets are available from ticketing app District by Zomato. It starts from Rs. 500 and goes up to Rs.1250. For students of dance, the tickets are set at Rs.250. It will be held at Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium at Kumaraguru Institutions campus, Saravanampatti this Sunday from 6.30 to 8 p.m.
