Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, organized a two-day AICTE-sponsored workshop under the Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement of Indian Languages (VAANI) scheme, titled “Design and Development of Critical Mineral-Based Alloys and Composites for Aerospace and Energy Applications” recently. 

The workshop was inaugurated on Friday by R. Padmanaban, Professor (Higher Academic Grade), School of Mechanical Engineering, VIT Chennai Campus. The program was presided over by K. Porkumaran, Principal, SKCET.

The technical sessions were enriched by eminent experts including V. Balasubramanian, Director, CEMAJOR, Annamalai University, Chidambaram;  T. Ram Prabhu, Joint Director, DRDO, Bengaluru; N. Lakshmi Narasimhan, General Manager – HR, Brakes India Ltd.; K. Venkatesan, Professor, GCE Salem and Mathan Babu, Post-Doctoral Associate, IISc Bengaluru.

The distinguished speakers delivered insightful deliberations on the applications of Rare Earth Materials (REM) in Defence and Energy sectors, they also discussed the recent research findings and case studies.

The valedictory session held on Saturday. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation with over 60 faculty members from various academic institutions and 15 faculty members from the host institution actively engaging in the deliberations.
