As part of the ongoing Coimbatore Vizha 2024 celebrations, Sri Krishna Institutions organized Coimbatore Vizha Parade, a vibrant showcase of traditional music and dance performances, to honor the rich culture of Coimbatore. The event was held on Sunday along the entire stretch of Cross Cut Road.
Minister Senthil Balaji launched the celebration in the presence of S. Malarvizhi, Chairperson and Managing Trustee; K.Adithya, Trustee, Sri Krishna Institutions, Kranthi Kumar Padi, District Collector; V.Balakrishnan, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner; Ranganayaki, Mayor; Sivaguru Prabhakaran, Commisioner, Coimbatore Corporation; and various influential industry members of Coimbatore.
Mr. Arun Senthilnathan, Chair; and Ms. Saumya Gayathri and Ms. Saritha Lakshmi, Co-Chairs of Coimbatore Vizha 2024 also participated.
"One of the main reasons for Coimbatore's vibrance and growth is the contribution of various communities. Coimbatore is a melting pot of diverse cultures and this event 'Coimbatore Vizha Parade' is a wonderful event to celebrate the diversity," said Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Padi on Sunday.
Speaking about the Vizha Parade 2024, Smt. S. Malarvizhi expressed immense pride in presenting this grand celebration. “This year’s Vizha Parade features 150 artists who have performed at the Chennai Sangamam Folk Festival. They are presenting 5–6 cultural performances, alongside 300+ other artists representing various multicultural associations in Coimbatore. This is the first time a parade of this scale is being held,” she said. Minister V.Senthil Balaji appreciated the organizers of Coimbatore Vizha for holding this grand event for 17 years straight. He said the schemes given to and announced for Coimbatore by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin facilitates further growth for this district. The dances featured at the event include Parai Isai, Kovai Jamab, Karagam, Bharatanatyam, Badaga dance, Urumi Kolattam, Valli Kummi, Devarattam and performances from various cultural associations. More than 10,000 people witnessed this grand celebration.
