Dignity Foundation, a leading non-profit organization focused on empowering senior citizens, inaugurated its Dementia Day Care Centre recently at Hindustan College of Arts & Science. 

‘Padma Shri’ Dr. Nachiar from the Aravind Eye Care Foundation and Dr. Sheilu Srinivasan, the Founder President of Dignity Foundation attended the program as special guests.

A press release mentioned that this Dementia Day Care Centre aims to provide essential support to senior citizens living with dementia, a growing concern in our society. With a commitment to enhancing their quality of life, the Centre offers a safe and engaging environment for individuals affected by dementia.

This facility is also designed to provide much-needed respite for caregivers, enabling them to balance their responsibilities while ensuring their loved ones receive appropriate care. The Dementia Day Care Centre will offer low-cost services that include van pick-up and drop-off, nutritious meals, refreshments, and various activities designed to promote cognitive and social well-being.

At the sidelines of the program, the winners of Inter-College Quiz Competition on Dementia, organized by Dignity Foundation were honoured. 200 students from 10 colleges participated in the quiz.
