Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC) and Tamil Nadu Agriculture University (TNAU) have inked an MoU to leverage new technologies using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine learning (ML), creating newer solutions to revolutionize Indian Agriculture.


Through this collaboration, SREC aims to create solutions identifying major crop diseases on a real-time and predictive basis using Machine Learning technology while TNAU would provide expert guidance and assist in data collection to detect diseases.


By combining the expertise of both Institutions, early detection of disease onset can be achieved which would aid farmers to take remedial actions promptly, obtaining higher yields. Along with this, a Mobile App will also be developed to have a user-friendly interface for farmers.  


The MoU was signed by V. Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, TNAU and D.Lakshminarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee SNR Sons Charitable Trust in the presence of M. Raveendran, Director of Research, TNAU and N.R. Alamelu, Principal, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College. 

Ganesh, Head-Industry Connect, SREC, Grace Selvarani, Head-Computer Science and Engineering, and professors of TNAU were also present during the occasion.
