Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS), Coimbatore, in collaboration with the Coimbatore District Collectorate, successfully hosted the “Internship Orientation cum Selection Programme – 2025,” a pioneering initiative aimed at bridging the gap between academic learning and administrative experience.

N. Balu, Deputy Dean (Government Industry Initiative), delivered the Welcome Address, highlighting the programme’s evolution over three successful editions—2023, 2024, and now 2025. With 1243 applications received from various institutions, 125 students were shortlisted, and 50 will be selected for the final internship program. Dr. N  Balu emphasized that this initiative, crafted under the guidance of the District Collector, is designed to foster creativity, innovation, and administrative insight among youth.

Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar, I.A.S., District Collector of Coimbatore delivered a special address. He shared the vision behind the internship program. He explained that the initiative aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of governance, focusing on grievance redressal, departmental operations, and citizen engagement.

He encouraged students to approach the internship with sincerity and commitment, noting that while only 50 can be accommodated due  to logistics  restrictions  added  the spirit of service extends beyond this program.

Adding a personal touch to the proceedings, Pragadeeshwari, a 3rd-year BBA International Business student, shared her enriching experience interning with the Revenue Administration Department. She described her role in organizing citizen petitions submitted to the Collector’s office and reflected on the impact of her 45-day internship.
