Tamil Nadu Congress Committee President Selvaperunthagai met press and media on Monday at the Coimbatore airport, where he told reporters that he will again be visiting Karur with the committee members to meet those who were affected at the stampede that took place on Saturday at Karur during TVK's campaign. 

Selvaperunthagai said that he will meet and provide relief assistance to the affected and also begin works for giving solatium to the kin of the deceased from Congress' side. Girish Chodankar, Incharge of Indian National Congress - Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be joining the team, Selvaperunthagai said.

Congress MP and leader of the opposition at Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Indian National Congress Party's president Mallikarjun Kharge have also sent their special representatives from Delhi to meet and console the affected and grieving members of the deceased, he said.
